Root Canal 21401

Root canal therapy in 21401

Root canal 21401

Root canal 21401

If you get nervous hearing the words “root canal therapy,” we at Family Dentistry of Maryland can assure you that there is no reason to. Despite the undeserved reputation that this important procedure has gotten in popular culture, the reality is that it is a safe and comfortable experience. And it is an important one, often as the only thing standing between you and the loss of your tooth.

Never settle for a tooth extraction when you can have our root canal 21401. Having a tooth removed means that you now have empty space that could leave you feeling self-conscious. Chewing may become less efficient, and your other teeth on that jaw can shift, causing you discomfort and possibly throwing your jaws out of their proper alignment. Instead, our root canal 21401 lets you maintain a viable tooth that will be every bit as durable as your other teeth are. Success it achieved in about 90% of cases, so you should feel confident in getting the needed results. The procedure, which is non-surgical (no cutting, no stitches, no bandages), is performed under local anesthesia. If you are nervous, though, we have sedation options to set your mind at ease. Our dentist will remove the injured pulp and nerve, clean the canals, disinfect them, and then seal them to help avoid any further infections. If more than one session is needed to finish the work, you will be fitted with a temporary crown. After the tooth has healed fully, impressions will then be taken for the making of a permanent crown, which restores the tooth to full size and functionality.

To schedule our root canal 21401, contact our office right now. We will have you seen as quickly as possible so that you won’t have to experience discomfort in your tooth for any longer than is absolutely necessary.

At Family Dentistry of Maryland, we understand the trials and tribulations of suffering from the aesthetic and functional consequences of missing teeth. We have many patients who deal with this discomfort, and we’re devoted to helping them kiss their missing teeth goodbye. Dental implants are a revolutionary dental option that involves replacing missing teeth with subtle, man-made teeth that function the same and appear completely natural. Instead of chaining in your new chompers with cumbersome and uncomfortable dentures, dental implants rely on surgically implanted metal structures in the gum for their support. These metal structures are rooted in the jaw bone, enabling the caps and crowns that are placed on top of them to function just like natural teeth, if not stronger. The replacement caps and crowns are also custom-made for your smile, allowing you to subtly complete your smile and look as if you never lost your teeth in the first place.

To learn more about whether dental implants might be the cosmetic dentistry solution that you’ve been waiting for, contact your local specialist in cosmetic dentistry in Annapolis MD at Family Dentistry of Maryland today; we’ll go the extra mile for your smile!

Dental Bridges in Annapolis MD

Teeth Restorations in Annapolis MD

Dental Bridges in Annapolis MD

Dental Bridges in Annapolis MD

Our dental bridges in Annapolis MD, which can be either fixed or removable, serve a vital role for replacing lost teeth. Here at Family Dentistry of Maryland, we’re pleased to provide bridges to fill the empty space where you once had teeth. They are simple to make, effective to use, and nearly anyone qualifies to get one.

Which type of our dental bridges in Annapolis MD is best for you, a fixed or removable one? There is no answer for that other than your personal preferences. With a fixed bridge, you have more dependability when you chew and speak, since the bridge is held in permanently with cement at the gum line. It is also held in on either side with anchors attached to those two teeth. However, doing so means that you lose tooth material from them. They are filed down so that anchors can be placed and then a crown cemented over each one to make certain that they stay in place. Many patients are happy with this option, but it is not for everyone. The feel of a fixed appliance attached to your gums and immovable is not suitable to the sensibilities of some. Removable bridges are also called partial removable dentures. They differ from the fixed version of our dental bridges in Annapolis MD in that they are held in at the gums with dental adhesive, and to the neighboring teeth with clasps. You won’t lose any tooth material. Hygiene is easier, because you will take out your removable bridge to clean it and also your gums. The major drawback associated with one is that it doesn’t always stay steady when you chew or speak. A removable bridge might slide on occasion.

Don’t settle for an incomplete smile. Schedule an appointment with our office for a consultation to decide whether a fixed or removable bridge is most appropriate for your needs.

Annapolis Clear Braces

Invisalign Clear Braces in Annapolis

Annapolis Clear Braces

Annapolis Clear Braces

Have you been thinking about having your teeth straightened so that you will have a smile that you are truly proud of? If so, you should come to see us at Family Dentistry of Maryland. Our dentist can provide you with Annapolis clear braces that will allow you to have your teeth straightened discreetly, without anyone even knowing it.

At our dental practice, we are very happy to offer treatment with Invisalign for patients who want to have their teeth straightened, but you do not want to be seen wearing metal wires and brackets on their teeth. Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to straighten teeth, so not all smile problems can be fixed with this treatment method. However, our dentists, just one of whom is Dr. Jun Tae Bae, will be able to let you know if you are a good candidate for this type of innovative orthodontic treatment. If it is found that you are a good candidate for treatment with Invisalign, CAD/CAM computer technology will be used to create your individualized series of clear plastic aligners. Depending on the bite problem being treated, you will have anywhere between 15 and 45 aligners in your series. Treatment with Invisalign takes about the same amount of time as treatment with traditional metal braces. However, our patients enjoy treatment with Invisalign because the Annapolis clear braces can be worn to work, school, and social gatherings, without anyone even knowing that you are having your teeth straightened. Additionally, the clear plastic aligners are extremely comfortable to wear since they do not contain any metal parts. Our patients also enjoy the fact that they are able to eat anything they want during the entire treatment period since the aligners are removed during meals.

For an appointment to meet with our dentist to see if you are a good candidate for orthodontic treatment with Annapolis clear braces, contact our office today.

21401 Teeth Cleaning

Dental cleanings versus periodontal cleanings in 21401

21401 teeth cleaning

21401 teeth cleaning

There are two main types of dental cleanings. There are regular dental cleanings and periodontal cleanings. Both of these treatments are available at our Family Dentistry of Maryland practice. If you need a 21401 teeth cleaning or periodontal cleaning, you should come to our office where you can be seen by one of our expert dentists, just one of whom is Dr. Jun Tae Bae.

When a patient has gingivitis, or is simply coming into our office for dental maintenance, they will have a regular 21401 teeth cleaning. During this type of teeth cleaning, all plaque and tartar is removed from the surface of the teeth, from between the teeth and from just below the gum line. This treatment is very effective in helping to prevent gum disease as well as preventing dental cavities. If our dentist finds that you have gingivitis, an inflammation of the gums which is a common precursor to gum disease, our dentist will most likely recommend that you have a regular teeth cleaning at our office. If our dentist finds that deep pockets have developed between your teeth and gums, you will need to have a periodontal scaling and root planing treatment. This treatment is like a deep cleaning for the gums. During this treatment, all bacteria, tartar, plaque, and food debris is removed from the deep pockets. At this time, local antibiotic treatment may also be applied. Hopefully, this gum therapy will help to reduce the size of the deep pockets and allow the gums to heal. Sometimes this treatment may need to be repeated more than once several months apart in order for the gums to return to good health. When periodontal cleanings are not effective in helping the gums to become healthy again, it may be recommended that the patient has gum surgery. Gum disease cannot be left untreated because it will always eventually advance and cause teeth to loosen and fall out.

For an appointment to come to our office for a 21401 teeth cleaning or periodontal cleaning, contact us today.

Once you have your teeth whitening in Annapolis MD, you will enjoy all the benefits that a beautiful brighter and white smile has to offer. It makes many of our patients feel more confident, or even younger – since teeth naturally yellow with age. However, you will also want to be sure that you know which foods to avoid so that you will be able to keep your newly-whitened smile for as long as possible. Teeth whitening will remove stains. Tooth stains can be caused by several different factors. Sometimes, tooth staining is simply caused by aging tooth enamel. Tooth staining is also caused by some of the habits you may have, or by certain foods and drink. Cigarette smoking is responsible for staining of teeth, and should be avoided if you want to your teeth to stay as white as possible. Staining of teeth is also caused by certain foods and drinks. If you want to make sure that your teeth stay as bright as possible, you will want to avoid eating foods with artificial coloring such as certain brightly-colored candies. It is also a good idea to refrain from eating berries, or drinking colored sports drinks. Colas should also be avoided as they are known to discolor teeth. If you eat or drink these foods, you will want to brush your teeth immediately afterward to reduce any tooth-coloring effects. It is also a good idea to avoid drinking both red and white wines, as these drinks can also contribute to tooth discoloration.

You can have your teeth whitened at our office in one short one-hour visit. We also offer an effective take-home teeth bleaching system. For an appointment to meet with our dentist regarding teeth whitening in Annapolis MD, contact us today.
